Our 20 / 20 Vision

Some would say it’s only a dream. But it’s not a “dream” - it’s a VISION! It’s the difference between having a “plan” and just having a “notion.”

We here at Abundant Life Church - Garland, Texas believe that God has destined us to be a beacon of God’s light to this community. We believe that God has given us the ministry of reconciliation and restoration. Our desire is to not only reach out to the un-churched of this community, but to embrace those that have been injured by religion.

We have just enlarged our facility that houses Joseph Ministry. Our vision is to continue to expand the work of Joseph Ministry, which presently is a food bank and homeless outreach, to include an apartment complex to help homeless, jobless, and hurting families get back on their feet. This will include housing them, equipping them for employment, teaching them computer skills, and providing them with marriage, family, and financial counseling.

We have completed our new Sanctuary and now taking the next step in this vision. Our new 20/20 Vision Ministry Center has been completed. This new facility includes a children’s and teen’s center, print shop, administrative offices, Global Priority Center, Global Prayer Center, and Fellowship Hall. Our current youth ministry, Power House, a teen ministry program has been expanded to provide ministry and mentoring for the troubled tees of our community.

Our new church auditorium has doubled our seating capacity. To meet the ministry needs of a growing congregation, we have developed a wonderful ministry staff to serve ALC and our community.

But our vision reaches far beyond our own community. Jesus once asked the question, “Do you think you deserve credit merely for loving those who love you?" Even the sinners do that! (Luke 6:32)

Our vision embraces the entire planet! To that end we have developed the Global Priority Center that houses printing and audio/video production facilities and will provide administrative support to meet the needs of our missionaries around the world

It is our goal to fully support the missionaries that God has put us in covenant relationship with as well as those he will bring into our church family in the future.

Already this church has a vital influence in the countries of Haiti, Mexico, Trinidad, Bulgaria, India, Pakistan, and Russia. We believe within the next decade, we will play a role in spreading the Gospel on every continent.

God has opened doors for us to take this next step on our way to the 20/20 Vision. And step by step God will guide us as we move forward in His service. We serve a big God and He has big plans for us. God is enlarging our hearts as we daily speak His Word over this vision.
